Moose Jaw - Town N Country Mall Health Walkers
Regina, December 9 “ At a recent ceremony held at the Town N' Country Mall, a group of Moose Jaw's seniors known as the ˜ Mall Health Walkers' presented the Lung Association of Saskatchewan with two checks totaling $2,213.40 “ one for $1,923.40 from the Town N' Country Mall and another from the on site A & W Restaurant for $290.00.
The ˜Town N' Country Mall Walkers' have been earning money from the Town N' Country  Mall for well over ten years. These robust seniors keep a log of the kilometers that they walk and are awarded ten cents per kilometer by the Mall Administration. The group, comprised of over 90 senior citizens, walked 19,234 km for lung health this past year. Cheryl Charters, Promotions Coordinator for the Town N' Country Mall, says, this lively group stay fit and have a lot of fun at the same time.
The A & W Restaurant is the meeting place where the group gathers twice monthly for breakfast and A & W's Fred Anderson provides a free breakfast to a lucky member. Each participant drops a quarter in a draw for the chance of a free breakfast and over the course of the year the quarters added up to $290.00.
