Certified Asthma Educators (CAE) and Certified Respiratory Educators (CRE) teach clients about their asthma and COPD, preventative measures, how to avoid triggers that worsen symptoms, the proper use of medications, diet and lifestyle counseling, and the use of written action plans that allow rapid adjustment of medications when symptoms worsen.
Many of the following educators have been trained by the Lung Association’s nationally recognized RESPTREC® (Respiratory Training and Educator Course) program.
To find and book an appointment to talk to an educator near you, scroll through the location list below. Referrals and appointments for asthma or COPD education can be made by an individual or their healthcare team.
